GLOW TRIP KAYAKS are ECO-TRIP excursions launching in the heart of the Destin Harbor . You will be paddling in authentic, Coast Guard certified, Crystal Clear Kayaks™ equipped with LED light bars to illuminate the waters beneath your paddlecraft.  These  trips are relaxing, yet exciting, and an all around peaceful experience for the whole family.

TRIP #1 (launches approximately 15 minutes before sunset)

SUNSET & GLOW TRIP will be launching about 15 minutes before sunset and will last for 60-75 minutes. We have 10 Clear Kayaks available to accommodate up to 20 people per trip. Launch times for SUNSET & GLOW TRIPS will vary slightly throughout the year based on the actual sunset time.

TRIP #2 (launches 15-30 minutes after Trip #1 returns)

GLOW TRIP will launch 30 minutes after the S&G Trip returns and will last for 60-75 minutes. We have 10 Clear Kayaks available to accommodate up to 20 people per trip. Launch times for GLOW TRIPS will vary slightly throughout the year based on the actual sunset time. 

TRIP #3 (MUST CALL TO DISCUSS AVAILABILITY: launches 15-30 minutes after Trip #2 returns)

MIDNIGHT GLOWERS will launch 30 minutes after the GLOW TRIP returns and will last for 60-75 minutes. These Trips may be used to reschedule earlier reservations that were cancelled due to weather or as private bookings for large parties. Call to inquire about availabilty.

What's the weight limit on these kayaks?

The maximum allowable weight per person is 325 LBS with a combined weight of 425 LBS for each Glo-Row kayak. There is a two person limit per kayak but we recommend one person per boat if pushing either of these limitations.

What should we bring?

1) a dry towel to leave with your belongings onshore or in your car. 

2) a waterproof camera or waterproof case for your phone that allows you to take pics with it on. 

3) maybe bottle of water.

What should we wear?

You may get a little wet. You can wear swim wear (or) shorts and shirt that can get a little wet and will dry quickly.  Spring and Fall Trips should bring a Lightweight but warm jacket or windbreaker. Light rain jacket if it's raining. 

NO SHOES WILL BE ALLOWED INSIDE THE BOATS. 

What about bad weather?

Florida Weather can change on a dime, so we watch both the current conditions and forecast closely throughout the day. If we cancel due to bad weather on the day of your party's trip you will; 1) be rescheduled to next available time slot 2) be offered a gift card for your next visit to the area 3) receive a full refund. We will not launch with high winds, lightning, or heavy storms. However we do still launch in a light rain or cold weather.

Do the kayaks tip over easily?

The kayaks are extremely stable and will not tip over unless you lean your body over the side, stand up in the kayak during the tour, or exceed the weight recommendations.

Can we arrange private tours?

Yes. Nothing can be better than a group of friends or family getting together for a paddle, far away from the distractions of the fast track world. Please contact us well in advance of your planned  date to ensure availability, discuss locations, and make reservations.

What if I can't swim?

No problem. We provide a PFD (life jacket) and an alert whistle for each guest. While you should expect to get a little wet, there is no reason for a guest to ever enter the water during a tour. STAY IN THE BOAT is Rule #1.

Do we need previous experience kayaking?

No...but it does help to at least be familiar with how to work a paddle craft. While experience is a benefit and can enhance your experience, our tours are for everyone including first time kayakers. Simply balance and row, it's pretty easy stuff!

Can we bring the kids?

YES! We're a family friendly activity. The minimum weight requirement is 30 pounds and an adult must be in the same vessel with children under 14. Children 6 & under must wear their PFD while on the water. Teens between 13-17 can rent a kayak solo (or tandem) with parental permission and waiver signed by parent or guardian. Only two people per kayak under any circumstance. (possible exceptions for small children with 2 adults)

Can we bring alcohol?

NO! We have a strict NO ALCOHOL policy. We get it, you're on vacation however we want to maintain a safe and family friendly environment for everyone.

**PaddleFish Outfitter, LLC & Destin Kayak Rentals reserves the right to refuse service to anyone unable to safely paddle due to alcohol or drug consumption prior to arriving for their trip.  If DKR staff make a judgment call based on alcohol or drug use prior to your scheduled trip, the guest will not be allowed to paddle or receive a refund for the trip cost.

How far do we paddle?

While the skill level of the group can change our intended Float Plan,  we typically paddle 1-3 miles on a Sunset & Glow Trip and slightly less distance on the later trips. This is a physical activity but we have had an 80 year old couple make the full loop and keep up. You will be advised of your designated Float Plan by GTK staff at the safety briefing before your tour. We stay together as a group while on the water.

What's the cancellation policy?

If your tour is cancelled by Destin Kayak Rentals due to unsafe weather conditions, you will 1) be rescheduled to next available time slot 2) be offered a gift card for your next visit to the area 3) receive a full refund less 5% processing fee and $25 admin fee. 

We will NOT REFUND if your party decides upon arrival that you need fewer kayaks than you initially reserved as we were unable to book them with other guest and staff each night according to the number of kayaks that are reserved.
